Founded as a brainchild of Prof. Dr. Leif Meier in 2015 datensonar is headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany. Prof. Dr. Leif Meier has made a career (academically & professionally) out of his passion for business informatics, especially in supply chain management. Finishing his PhD and starting his career in FMCG and banking, he quickly moved on to work and find his passion in the container handling industry, gaining in depth experience and expertise and becoming a renowned expert in the field before being appointed to professor.
Joined by Thomas Schirmer, an entrepreneur by trade, they started Datensonar determined to make the world a better place through lifting the potential that AI and advanced algorithms offer for an industry that has not used its underlying data effectively. At least not to the point that Leif and Thomas envisioned.
